Fix Mouse Clicks Not Working in a Published Citrix Application

Fix Mouse Clicks Not Working in a Published Citrix Application

When a published Citrix application opens normally but mouse clicks are offset, ignored or only work in part of the window, start by separating an application problem from a session/display problem. Do not immediately rebuild the published application.

Quick isolation

  1. Test the same application directly on the VDA/server. If clicks fail locally as well, troubleshoot the application rather than Citrix.
  2. Test from a second endpoint and, if available, a different Citrix Workspace app version.
  3. Disconnect the affected session completely and start a new session. A simple reconnect can preserve a bad display state.
  4. Temporarily test with one monitor and 100% display scaling. Mixed DPI scaling across monitors is a common way to expose coordinate problems in older applications.

Session checks

  • Confirm the VDA and Citrix Workspace app are on supported versions for your environment.
  • Check whether the problem starts only after dragging the app between monitors or changing resolution.
  • Review VDA event logs and Citrix session logs at the time of the issue.
  • If the application uses custom graphics acceleration, test the approved Citrix graphics policy for that application group rather than disabling acceleration globally.

Verification

Retest the exact controls that previously failed and verify keyboard input, resizing, multiple monitors and reconnect behaviour. If a client update or DPI setting fixes the issue, document the affected client/build so the change can be deployed consistently instead of applying per-user workarounds.
