Allow a Validated Download Through Palo Alto Networks

Use an exception only when a legitimate business download has been blocked and the URL or file has already been independently validated as safe. Do not create a broad bypass simply to make a warning disappear.

1. Sign in to the Palo Alto Networks management interface using an authorised administrator account.
2. Identify the security or URL filtering rule that is blocking the destination.
3. Create a narrowly scoped address, URL category or exception for the exact destination required.
4. Apply the exception only to the users, devices or security rule that need it.
5. Commit the change and test the required download.
6. Review the security logs and remove the exception when it is no longer needed.

Recommended practice: validate the file hash or publisher, confirm the business owner, and document the reason for the exception before committing the change.
